About Jessie

I live in Big Sur with my husband, two kids, three cats, 1 rat, and about 5 million bees (100 hives). We have a large orchard and a garden of vegetables, herbs, and flowers. I love to dance, and to write poetry. The ocean is always present in my dreams, and I'm often at the beach when awake. I am an eternal student, happiest with something new to learn.

I've been studying astrology for almost a decade, and of all my passions it burns the brightest. I feel awe and gratitude as I watch the heavens, knowing that my one tiny life is connected to the cosmos. I don't know how astrology works, but I can say unequivocally that it does.

I'm largely self-taught, with a library that is always outgrowing my bookshelves. I have also studied formally with Steven Forrest and Matthew Kenney. I practice a blend of evolutionary and Hellenistic astrology. I bring the complexity and technical rigor of hellenistic technique to my readings, along with the heart-centered storytelling and meaning-making of evolutionary astrology.

I am also an herbalist, and in fact I loved plants long before I knew about the stars. My relationship with the plants themselves comes first, and I am honored to call many my friends. I have studied herbalism for 15 years, and practice in the Wise Woman tradition. Crystal Woodling and Susun Weed are my primary teachers.

For clients who are interested I offer herbal remediation for difficult placements found in the birth chart. As we talk through difficulties in your life and locate the source in your chart, I can recommend herbs that you can work with to help you overcome your struggles. Allying with plants is a powerful way for you to access skills and wisdom beyond what you posses on your own.
